We work to eliminate the barriers facing economically and socially disadvantaged women from receiving adequate grief and loss support services. We assist women who are Head of Household and have suffered the loss of a loved one due to non-criminal activities, such as unexpected or sudden loss from accidents, disease, drug overdoses (i.e., fentanyl poisoning and meth) and suicides. Therefore, we will provide grieving women with the following:
• Grief Assistance: We will support individuals and families who have lost a loved one with mortuary/funeral, burial and cemetery assistance, rental assistance, grief counseling, support groups, and other activities that will support the overcoming of the trauma.
• Grief Counseling and Recovery: Focused on a trauma-informed recovery process by which we improve health and wellness for those impacted by traumatic events that would help regain a meaningful and holistic life, despite persistent symptoms. Those in need will also be able to participate in monthly support groups.
• Grief Outreach: We will give build a bear, gift baskets, flowers, and other goods to families dealing with trauma and loss. Families and individuals will also be able to participate in activities that help with grief, such as pottery, candle making, and self-care. Program Eligibility: proof of loss, proof of relationship, proof of income.
