About Us

“A Woman’s Future Success Evolves from Her Past Challenges”

Why Are We Here?

As part of an effort to support Women in Los Angeles County, who are socially and economically disadvantaged underserved and in the role of Head of Household for their families, Networking Options for Women was founded in 2012. We deliver services to Women, who have been affected by trauma such as the loss of a loved one, homelessness, mental health concerns, court-ordered services and other crisis situations needing our support. We also provide Community services for Internship field hours and Community Service hours for High School Students. We are here as a committed, sustainable organization to provide the Community with Programs and Services vital to ensure survival of daily living challenges, successfully.

Lana McLeod is the Founder and CEO of Networking Options for Women (N.O.W.), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides Programs and Services to underserved Women in the role of Head of Household for their families. Ms. McLeod has a Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management from Bellevue University and an Associate’s degree in Retail Management from Cerritos College. She is a Licensed Insurance Adjuster and has a Certification in Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Ms. McLeod is actively involved in her community and serves as an Executive Officer, Treasurer, and Chairwoman of the Budget & Finance Committee for the City of Los Angeles Empowerment Congress Central Area Neighborhood Development Council (ECCANDC). In 2014, Ms, McLeod was elected Area 2 Representative for the Neighborhood Council and was soon appointed as Secretary of the Executive Board.  One of her proudest achievements at that time was to plan the 1st Annual ECCANDC Community Breakfast.  She along with her Team successfully united the Constituents with local Government, Stakeholders and LAPD.  She also founded Concerned Community Advocates (CCA), a team that successfully fought to keep GAMES Elementary Charter School open by disbanding its board and creating a new governing board. Ms. McLeod is a single mother who raised three daughters and has first-hand knowledge of the financial struggles and emotional and mental health challenges faced by Women in similar situations.

Another issue Ms. McLeod embraces is to provide legal assistance to Women interacting with the Judicial System without the knowledge and experience to navigate a system designed to keep them at-risk and underserved.   She is a forever champion of empowering Women to be better tomorrow by investing in self today.  Ms. McLeod is passionate about empowering Women to invest in themselves and make their dreams a reality. She strongly believes in lifelong learning and encourages Women to know their worth.  Ms. McLeod is a perfect example of “A Woman’s Future Success Evolves from Her Past Challenges”.
